Withypool Hill

Our verdict

A tea-and-cake hill: up from the village, round the stone circle, back for the Royal Oak. Gentle by Exmoor standards and lovely in August heather.

The heather hill straight above Withypool village, with a small stone circle hidden on its southern flank and the Barle valley curling round below.

Open access land under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act. You're free to roam on foot beyond the paths. Dogs on a short lead 1 March to 31 July and around livestock.
