Our verdict
A connective wood — the pleasant green rung on the ladder from Norton's lanes up to Ham Hill proper. As a destination it's modest; as the start of the quiet way up, it's just the ticket.
A pocket of broadleaf woodland at Little Norton under the west end of Ham Hill, where field paths climb from the hamstone cottages towards Hedgecock Hill and the country park ridge.
A small wood below Ham Hill at Little Norton, open at all times.
