North Hill (Minehead)

Our verdict

Minehead's wild upstairs — two minutes from the town and suddenly it's all heather, sea and skylarks.

The great heathy plateau rising straight from Minehead seafront, where the South West Coast Path sets off along cliffs facing Wales.

Open access land under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act. You're free to roam on foot beyond the paths. Dogs on a short lead 1 March to 31 July and around livestock.
