One of the best short, sharp climbs in west Dorset — steep but quick, with a genuinely dramatic hilltop at the end. Exposed in wind and rain, so check the forecast.
The second-highest hill in Dorset at 277 metres, topped by a well-preserved Iron Age hillfort where the remains of 14 roundhouses have been found near its centre. Bequeathed to the National Trust by the Pinney family in 1982, it's exposed and open rather than wooded, with sweeping views over the Marshwood Vale.
