Lewesdon Hill

Our verdict

A proper climb through atmospheric woodland, best paired with Pilsdon Pen four kilometres away for a full Marshwood Vale double. Muddy underfoot after rain given the tree cover.

The highest point in Dorset at 279 metres, just pipping neighbouring Pilsdon Pen by a couple of metres, and thickly wooded almost to its summit with beech and oak rather than open like its neighbour. Views break through the trees over Devon, Somerset and out to sea.
