Lambert's Castle Hill

Our verdict

Easy walking on top once you've made the short climb, and the car park sits right at the summit — a reliable, family-friendly favourite. Livestock graze the ramparts in season.

A 2,500-year-old Iron Age hillfort on a prominent, near-level summit above the Marshwood Vale, once host to an annual fair and still ringed by its original ramparts. Wide views open out over the vale to Lewesdon and Pilsdon.
