Our verdict
The most complete, family-friendly spot in this whole area — parking, toilets, a café-and-shops corner by the barn, and a proper walk if you want one. Gets busy on fine weekends, but there's enough space to spread out. Good base for linking on to Avoncliff Wood or Warleigh Wood if you fancy a longer day.
A proper 36-acre country park on the edge of Bradford-on-Avon, bounded by the River Avon on one side and the Kennet & Avon Canal on the other, with the medieval Tithe Barn — one of the largest in England — as its centrepiece. Wildflower meadows, wetlands, a play area and a 3-mile circular walk out along the canal to the Avoncliff Aqueduct and the Cross Guns pub.
Country park — managed for visitors, usually with parking and trails.
