Nyland Hill

Our verdict

The island hill nobody climbs. Ten steep minutes to a summit ring of trees and a view of Mendip, Tor and moor that feels entirely yours. Roadside pull-in and over the stile.

A perfect green cone rising alone from the Levels between Cheddar and Wedmore — a miniature Glastonbury Tor without the tower or the tourists.

Open access land under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act. You're free to roam on foot beyond the paths. Dogs on a short lead 1 March to 31 July and around livestock.
