Yes it's the honeypot, and yes you should still go. Skip the show-cave strip, climb Jacob's Ladder or start from Black Rock, and do the full rim circuit — it's the most dramatic walking in Somerset.
Britain's biggest gorge — 400-foot limestone cliffs, feral goats, peregrines and the road snaking along the bottom. The cliff-top paths on both rims are open access and link into a classic circular walk.
Open access land under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act. You're free to roam on foot beyond the paths. Dogs on a short lead 1 March to 31 July and around livestock.
