Our verdict
A worthwhile short climb tacked onto a Winfrith Heath visit rather than a destination by itself — the view is the main reward. Ground-nesting Dartford warblers and nightjars mean dogs need to stay on the main tracks (or on a lead) through the spring and summer nesting season.
