Our verdict
Wild, open and steep-sided, but genuinely remote — there's no path network to speak of, so this suits confident off-map walkers more than a casual pootle. Parking and dog rules are TBC.
A dry heathland valley (a "bottom" in Dorset dialect) on the CRoW access land south of Chaldon Down, close to the chalk ridge that separates the Wareham heaths from the Purbeck coast.
