Our verdict
Typical quiet Purbeck heath: no facilities and no waymarking, but easy underfoot and a good stretch of open access if you want space rather than a signed route. Ground-nesting Dartford warblers and nightjars mean dogs need to stay on the main tracks (or on a lead) through the spring and summer nesting season. Parking and dog rules are TBC.
