Our verdict
An odd one to include, but the footpath is genuine public access even though it borders an active golf course — the Woodland Trust itself notes that access to some paths is uncertain when the course is busy, so keep an eye out for stray balls. The course's own future is under discussion locally, so this entry may need revisiting.
Not the golf course itself, but the belt of broadleaved trees and public footpath that runs around two sides of it, with good views west over open Wiltshire countryside. There's a free car park off the A361 by the golf shop, from which the path is signed.
A broadleaved wooded footpath around a working council-owned golf course — not the fairways themselves.
