Our verdict
An unlikely little reserve — you're never far from motorway hum, but the bluebells in April and May are genuinely worth the short detour if you're passing. Not a destination on its own; pair it with Monks Rest Wood just up the road.
A small pocket of secondary semi-natural woodland squeezed between office buildings and the M4's Junction 16 slip roads, of all places, yet it still puts on an impressive bluebell carpet each spring. Oak standards and coppiced trees give cover for rabbits and the odd roe deer despite the traffic noise.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust reserve — free to explore on foot; many are dog-free to protect wildlife.
