One of the best view-for-effort ratios on this list — free parking right at the top and a genuinely huge panorama, though the wider Wessex Ridgeway walks from here towards Tollard Royal and Ashcombe Bottom are a proper leg-stretch if you want more than the summit.
The highest point in the Cranborne Chase National Landscape at 277 metres, crowned with a distinctive clump of beech trees growing on a Bronze Age bowl barrow. A National Trust car park sits right at the top, so the view is only a short stroll from the car — on a clear day you can pick out the Isle of Wight, the Purbeck Hills, Glastonbury Tor and the Quantocks from the toposcope at the summit.
