Quiet, high downland with a genuinely good view, and Ashmore's pond is worth the short detour into the village afterwards. Livestock graze the surrounding land, so keep dogs close.
Open CRoW downland above Ashmore, Dorset's highest village at around 210 metres, famous for the circular dew pond at its centre that gave the village its name (Ash-mere). The down offers wide views over Cranborne Chase from one of the highest points in the county.
