Our verdict
Best treated as the wooded chapter of a Pensford viaduct walk rather than the headline. String it together with the riverbank and the sixteen arches and you've a proper outing; the wood alone is a pleasant few acres.
A bank of broadleaf woodland in the valley near Pensford, where the River Chew loops under its famous railway viaduct. Bluebells in the older corners, young Trust planting filling the gaps.
