Our verdict
A classic short, steep pull straight out of a genuinely pretty village — combine it with the mill pond and duck pond for a full outing. Parking in the village itself is tight, especially at weekends.
Chalk down directly above Sutton Poyntz's thatched cottages and mill pond, part of the ridge shared with Bincombe Hill and Chalbury hillfort. Sheep-grazed slopes with views over the village to Weymouth Bay and Portland.
