Bincombe Hill

Our verdict

One of the best short climbs in this stretch of Dorset for the view alone — do it as part of the Sutton Poyntz/Osmington circuit rather than an out-and-back, since there's no real path network of its own away from the ridge.

Chalk downland above the tiny village of Bincombe, on the ridge shared with Green Hill and the South West Coast Path's inland loop between Sutton Poyntz and Osmington. Bronze Age barrows and strip lynchets pattern the slopes, with wide views over Weymouth Bay to Portland.
