Ringstead Bay

Our verdict

Some of the best coastal walking in this guide, but it's a proper climb, not a flat stroll — the beach itself, reached from the western car park, is the easier dog-friendly option if you just want a paddle.

The eastern reach of Ringstead Bay towards White Nothe, where the South West Coast Path climbs above Burning Cliff on its way to Durdle Door and Lulworth. National Trust land runs the length of the coast here, part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

National Trust land — usually free to walk; some sites charge for parking.
