A rewarding, easy riverside walk if you enjoy birdwatching, following quiet paths and roads along the Frome — best in winter for the wildfowl numbers, though the ground can be soft after rain.
RSPB-managed water meadows beside the River Frome at Wareham, part of an important wetland complex for wintering wildfowl and waders including black-tailed godwit, curlew and lapwing, with reedbeds that hold water rail and bearded tit.
