Our verdict
Better for birdwatching than dog walking — the reedbeds themselves are soft, wet ground and best appreciated from the paths rather than explored off them. Worth a stop if you're already walking the Arne reserve.
Reedbeds fringing Poole Harbour on the Arne peninsula, part of the wetland habitat that supports bearded tits, water rail and, in winter, large numbers of wildfowl. Boardwalk sections cross the wetter ground near the RSPB reserve.
