Our verdict
Short, sharp and hugely rewarding for the effort — one of the best quick view-fixes in this whole area. Can get busy on clear weekends given the reputation.
A heather-and-gorse-covered hilltop above Morcombelake, officially a Marilyn at 207m and reckoned by many to have the best view in Dorset — Golden Cap and the sea to the south, the Marshwood Vale and Pilsdon Pen stretching north. Bronze Age burials and old chert quarry pits pit the summit.
