Our verdict
One of the best-known walks on the Jurassic Coast, and popular for it — expect company at weekends. Keep dogs on a short lead at the cliff edge; there have been fatal falls where dogs have chased gulls over the drop.
The highest point on the south coast of England (191m), a great slumping mass of golden-capped greensand cliff between Charmouth and Seatown, with the ruined hamlet of Stanton St Gabriel below. Views stretch from Start Point to Portland on a clear day.
