Sika Trail

Our verdict

One of the easiest, most reliable walks in the whole forest — flat, well-signed and buggy/wheelchair friendly, which also means it's one of the busier car parks on a nice weekend. Good for a straightforward off-lead pootle rather than solitude.

A well-surfaced trail through Wareham Forest, named for the sika deer that live in the woods and are most visible during the October–November rut. Though promoted as a cycling route, the wide, hard-packed tracks make it an easy, accessible walk too, with a good chance of spotting deer or sand lizards along the way.
