Our verdict
Big, open downland with genuinely good views towards Poole Harbour and the coast, best combined with the more established Nine Barrow Down / Purbeck Ridgeway route nearby rather than treated as a separate walk.
Part of the chalk ridge that forms the spine of the Isle of Purbeck, running from Corfe Castle out towards Swanage, with CRoW access land opening up the down above Ulwell and Studland to walkers off the main Ridgeway path.
