Our verdict

A well-loved, easy local wood rather than a big adventure — good for a regular dog walk if you're nearby, with a genuinely nice view back over Yetminster from the top.

A popular broadleaf wood on the edge of Yetminster, planted in 1998 with local support and reached up a track off Brister End. Views open up over the village church and surrounding countryside, and it's used for local Forest School sessions.

Woodland Trust wood — free to visit on foot, open every day.
