Our verdict
No formal path network of its own, but the setting on the downs above Ham is genuinely good. Best combined with a longer walk taking in Ham Hill or the Wiltshire/Berkshire Downs rather than visited alone.
Two adjoining CRoW parcels of open downland east of Marten, near the hamlet of Rivar close to the Wiltshire/Berkshire border — sheep-nibbled chalk down with rolling views, and part of the same high ground as Ham Hill and Inkpen Hill just over the county line.
Open access land — you can roam freely on foot.
