One of the easiest hillforts on this list to actually reach — free parking a short stroll from the earthworks themselves, and a good, uncrowded spot for a picnic with a view.
An Iron Age hillfort with an unusual inner ditch and no visible bank, five miles north-east of Salisbury, giving wide views over the surrounding chalk downland. The National Trust manages the site with a small free car park right beside it, making the summit an easy walk from the road.
