Free, uncrowded, and genuinely impressive once you understand the scale of the earthwork — Woodhenge's concrete posts take a moment to click into place as a map of a lost timber monument, but it's worth the moment.
Britain's largest known henge monument, enclosing an area bigger than Stonehenge itself, with the nearby timber circle of Woodhenge marked out today by short concrete posts. Both sites are part of the wider Stonehenge World Heritage Site and connect via a National Trust walking route to the Avenue and the stone circle beyond.
