Our verdict
A proper climb rewarded with some of the best views in this part of Wiltshire — allow a couple of hours if you want to take in both hillforts and the ridge between them. One of the better big-day-out options on this list.
The third highest point in Wiltshire at 289 metres, capped by an Iron Age hillfort covering 32 acres on its summit plateau. Reached via Oare and the Giant's Grave to the west, or from a car park just south of Clench Common to the east, with a smaller second hillfort — the Giant's Grave itself — a kilometre along the ridge to the south-west.
Open access land — you can roam freely on foot.
