A genuine conservation success on Marlborough's doorstep — good for a quiet riverside wander and a decent chance of spotting something special if you're patient, without needing to drive anywhere.
A 30-acre restored water meadow and chalk stream reserve on the edge of Marlborough, opened by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust as one of its newer nature reserves. The River Og runs through it on its way to join the River Kennet in town, forming an important wildlife corridor between Ogbourne Maisey and Marlborough — more than 300 species have been recorded here, including otter, wild brown trout and water voles.
