Our verdict
The green sidecar to one of Somerset's best small hills. Do the bluebells in late April, then climb past the old church for the estuary-and-Brean-Down panorama — a lot of landscape for a very short walk.
A windswept pocket of trees and a spring bluebell field on the slopes of Uphill's limestone knoll, beside the old quarry and the roofless Norman church that watches over the mouth of the Axe.
A small wood and wildflower field on Uphill's hillside, open at all times.
