Prior Park Landscape Garden

Our verdict

An entry fee and no car park, and still worth it: the view down the combe to the bridge and the city is one of the finest designed landscapes in England. Combine with the Bath Skyline for a free second act.

Capability Brown's steep green amphitheatre folded into a Bath valley, famous for its Palladian bridge — one of only four in the world — reflected in the lakes below.

National Trust pay-to-enter garden. No parking on site — walk, bus or bike from Bath. Dogs welcome on leads.
