Not glamorous, but exactly what a weekday walk wants to be — free parking, wide dry-ish tracks, an hour's loop without repeating yourself, and enough space that even on a busy morning everyone spreads out.
A big block of mixed conifer and broadleaf woodland on the hill between Failand and Long Ashton, threaded with broad forest roads and softer bridleways. Popular with local dog walkers and riders, with glimpses out over the Gordano valley.
