Middle Hope

Our verdict

The best short coast walk between Clevedon and Minehead. Twenty minutes end to end, honest sea air, and rock pools at the point. Weston's crowds stay firmly on the beach behind you.

The limestone headland north of Sand Bay running out to Sand Point — a mini sea-ridge of coves, wave-cut rock and flowery turf with views up the Severn to both bridges.

Open access land under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act. You're free to roam on foot beyond the paths. Dogs on a short lead 1 March to 31 July and around livestock.
