Our verdict
The best short leg-stretch in the whole forest — a proper hillfort with a view to match, and an easy, well-marked loop from its own car park — though it's popular enough that you'll usually share it with other walkers.
A Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age univallate hillfort on a gravel knoll on Bloxworth Heath, one of Wareham Forest's Scheduled Ancient Monuments, with a trig point on top and a waymarked loop (pink markers) from the dedicated Woolsbarrow car park giving spectacular views over the surrounding heath and forest.
