An easy, sandy circuit with more wildlife interest than its size suggests, and it links straight into Town Common if you want longer. Popular with mountain bikers, and the heath is fragile — keep dogs on the paths through the nesting season.
A low sandy ridge of wet and dry heath above Christchurch, rising to 53 metres between the Avon and Stour valleys. A Site of Special Scientific Interest holding sand lizard, smooth snake and silver-studded blue, with Bronze Age tumuli and a Roman signal station on the top.
Open access land — you can roam freely on foot.
