Our verdict
A pretty pocket reserve, but tiny (3 hectares) and with no parking of its own — best combined with a walk through Loders village itself.
A small, peaceful Dorset Wildlife Trust meadow enclosed by old sweet chestnut, ash and multi-stemmed maple trees on a hillside above Loders village. A streamside strip of woodland along the southern edge is visited by otters, and chiffchaff and long-tailed tit favour the wooded slopes.
