Corfe Common (South)

Our verdict

An easy, well-used loop right on the edge of the village with a great view back to the castle — popular with both dog walkers and tourists spilling out from the village, so expect company, especially at weekends. Livestock graze the common, so dogs need to stay on a lead.

Corfe Common, a sandstone ridge of common land south of Corfe Castle village, criss-crossed by the National Trust's waymarked Corfe Common history walk and grazed by cattle and ponies that help keep the grassland open.
