A nice young wood with a genuine bit of history at its heart — worth a stop if you're walking the Hardy Way, less of a draw as a standalone destination since the trees are still filling out.
A Woodland Trust wood at Kingston, planted with local people in 1999 to mark the Millennium. A spring known as the Holy Well, dating to the 1600s and excavated as a historic monument in 1999, sits within the site, and the long-distance Hardy Way footpath runs straight through.
